GTT AD CRUNCHER®:

THE REAL SUPER BOWL WINNER: THOSE COMMERCIALS!

Turns out, the game left a lot to ask for in terms of entertainment. Luckily, those commercials stepped up and took home the MVP!

Turns out, the game left a lot to ask for in terms of entertainment. Luckily, those commercials stepped up and took home the MVP!

So another Super Bowl is in the history books. And what a Super Bowl it wasn’t! (We’re looking at you Mahomes) Other than the same old military plane flyovers, rampant NFL hypocrisy, and the 43 year old quarterback who keeps on winning Super Bowl after Super Bowl (for some reason his name and face escapes us), there wasn’t much more to take note of.

Except for those Super Bowl Commercials!

The barrage of spots for goods, products and services lived up to all of the hype. We couldn’t ignore those attention grabbing, scene stealing, star studded, nuggets of entertainment that so rudely interrupted with some mediocre football playing last night.

And because many of this year’s “Super Bowl Parties” may have been just you watching by yourself therefore not knowing which of the commercials were good or not, we’ve ranked the ones worth noting for you with this in-depth, definitive analysis of our favorite Super Bowl Commercials from last night!

The Winners:

  1. THE ONE WITH ALL THE CELEBRITIES

Hands down, this one was the best one of the bunch. It had that guy from that show, that woman who who was in that movie, and a bunch of other celebs doing what celebrities do best; be their famous selves!

  2. THE ONE THAT HAD FEWER CELEBRITIES

This one was a very close 2nd, but by our count it came up short in the amount of celebrities therefore, wasn’t quite as good as the one that had more. But it wasn’t bad!

  3. THE ONE THAT HAD JUST ONE CELEBRITY

This one was good, we mean really good. But it only had one celebrity in it. So it could only be so good.

  4. THE ONE FOR THAT BEER

Beer commercials on the Super Bowl are always good ones. This one in particular was very funny and did not disappoint. Much like beer never does!

  5. THE ONE FOR THAT CAR COMPANY

Automobile spots are also always a Super Bowl contender. And the Super Bowl is often where you see the best ones. It’s as if the Super Bowl is really the “Super Bowl of Commercials!” where car commercials are the the football players! Which would then make the best car commercial Tom Brady, right? So the Tom Brady of car commercials was the one for that car brand. THAT was a great one!

  6. THE ONE FOR THAT BEER THAT WAS WASN’T EVEN A BEER

There’s a new crop of alcoholic beverages that aren’t beer and they aren’t liquor. But the commercials for them are funny. So it all works out!

  7. THE ONE THAT WASN’T EVEN REALLY A COMMERCIAL

Did you see that- what was that? There were no celebs, no action, no people of any kind. But it’s the one everyone is talking about and made us all do the one thing we don’t really wanna do when we’re watching television; READ! (and it’s only because of that that it’s #7)

Those are our thoughts on the Super Bowl commercials from last night’s game. All in all, not a bad night of entertainment, we’d say. That is, unless you were watching the Super Bowl for the game. But then again, there was that streaker! Hopefully, we’ll all be able to go back to watching Super Bowl Commercials with all our friends Super Bowl Party sitting elbow to elbow, face to face, butt to butt. But as far as we’re concerned, last night there were no losers! (Well, except of course for The Chiefs).

Honorable Mentions: THE ONE WITH THE REAL PEOPLE, THE ONE THAT USED REAL FOOTAGE, THE ONE THAT WAS HIGHLY EMOTIONAL, THE ONE WITH COOL GRAPHICS, THE ONE THAT MADE YOU FEEL GOOD, and THE ONE THAT WAS PRETTY FUNNY.

The Loser: THE ONE FOR ROBINHOOD. Fuck them.

EDITOR'S NOTE: GTT had no commercials produced for the Super Bowl this year (sadly, for any Super Bowl in any year). But that doesn’t mean we don’t have “Super Bowl Sized Ideas”! Give us a call if you’re looking for a an idea worthy of the big game, but don’t have the budget for it (or even watch it).
